Adapting Grow Lights for Outdoor Gardens

No comment yet

Sometimes you need to use grow lights to work with your outdoor gardens, especially if you have a shady yard.  All you need to do is purchase a weatherproof ballast kit that can protect your light from rain.  You can also build a small cover for your light that keeps any type of weather from reaching the electrical parts of your system.  If you do use a shelter, remember to cover the bottom with clear material so the light will reach the plants.

How close do my Grow Lights need to be to my plants?

This is a very important question.  Your grow lights should be between 4 and 6 feet away from your plants, depending on the wattage of the lights.  Higher watt lights can be further away from the plants, so you should read the description of your light to make sure you have enough clearance to mount them correctly above your plants.
