FAQ

What type of projector screen do I need?

Projector screens fall into a few types. Fixed screen material offers the largest viewing area for a custom home theater setup. Electric and manual pull-down screens mount to a wall or ceiling for classrooms and conference rooms. Portable and floor stand screens set up without mounting, suited for outdoor movie nights and presentations on the go.

How big of a screen fits my room?

The 177" Front Projector Screen Material offers the largest viewing area at 154" x 86" in matte white, suited for large home theaters. The 92" electric projector screen has an 80" x 46" viewing area for mid-size rooms. The 63"x35" manual pull down projector screen and 57"x43" manual pull down projector screen both have a 72" diagonal, sized for classrooms and conference rooms in 16:9 and 4:3 formats.

What's the difference between an electric and a manual pull-down projector screen?

The 92" electric projector screen lowers and raises using an RF remote or a built-in switch, powered by a motor. The 63"x35" manual pull down projector screen and 57"x43" manual pull down projector screen use a self-locked system, pulled down by hand and locked at the desired height without power.

Does a projector screen come with its own frame or stand?

No, not all of them. The 177" Front Projector Screen Material ships as screen material only, with no frame or stand included, designed to be cut and mounted to a custom frame. The other projector screens each include a frame, case, or stand as part of the package.

Are mounting screws included with a wall mount projector screen?

It depends on the model. The 92" electric projector screen includes a set of screws. The 63"x35" manual pull down projector screen and 57"x43" manual pull down projector screen do not include screws, so buyers can choose hardware suited to their wall type.

Can a projector screen be mounted on the ceiling instead of the wall?

Yes. The 92" electric projector screen has a dual wall and ceiling installation design. The 63"x35" manual pull down projector screen and 57"x43" manual pull down projector screen are also built for wall or ceiling mounting.

Is a projector screen safe to use outdoors for movie nights?

Yes. The 100" outdoor projector screen with frame uses a water-resistant screen and a rust-resistant aluminum frame, built for outdoor use. The 60" floor stand pull up portable projector screen is also rated for indoor and outdoor use, including outdoor garden viewing.

How do I set up a portable outdoor projector screen?

Extend the aluminum frame and buckle the screen onto it, then anchor the 100" outdoor projector screen with frame using the included stakes and ropes for stability outdoors. The whole setup folds down into the included Oxford carrying bag when finished.

Can I move the floor stand screen between rooms?

Yes. The 60" floor stand pull up portable projector screen uses a one-piece self-standing design with lockable feet, and folds down to 52 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 5 1/8" for storage and transport between rooms.

Do I need to dim the lights to see the picture clearly?

Not necessarily, though a darker room improves contrast. Screen gain ranges from 1.1 to 1.3, with higher gain producing a brighter image under ambient light. The 92" electric projector screen and 60" floor stand pull up portable projector screen both offer 1.3 gain, the highest available.

Will light show through the back of the projector screen?

No. The 92" electric projector screen, 63"x35" manual pull down projector screen, and 57"x43" manual pull down projector screen all use black-backed screen material that blocks light from passing through, keeping the picture focused and free of washout from behind.

Can I order projector screens in bulk for my organization?

Yes. Schools, offices, and event venues can submit bulk orders through the Wholesale Inquiry Form. Subscribers also get additional savings through the Subscriber Perks page.

When will my projector screen order arrive?

Projector screen orders ship free via UPS and typically arrive within 2 to 4 business days across the lower 48 states. Orders placed before 12PM PST on a business day are typically processed the same day. Larger screens may ship in multiple packages. See the Shipping Guide.

Can I send back a projector screen if it arrives damaged?

Yes. Projector screens can be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided they are in original packaging with all tags intact. Damaged or defective items ship back free, while return shipping is on the customer for sizing or fit issues. For full details, see the Return Policy.
