If you are going to take photos inside, then you will need studio lighting. Even if you have an area with large windows that allow plenty of natural light to enter the studio, there may come a time when you have to complete a project after dark. Without extra lighting, you will have to take the pictures under poor light, such as naked bulbs or regular lamps. You can also use this lighting to correct problems with natural light.
Using Studio Lighting to Enhance Natural Lighting
Many photographers will tell you that natural lighting is the best way to create stunning photographs. While this may be true, they do not tell you that you must find a way to remove the harsh shadows associated with sunlight. Studio lighting can be used on the opposite side from the sun, creating a subject that is well lit from every angle. This will give you the best-looking photos, while still taking advantage of your natural light.
