Although Los Angeles has chosen to reopen theatres in March, they are under strict guidelines. While some theatres are allowed to reopen so long as they adhere to capacity restrictions all guests are required to wear a face covering. It is also highly encouraged for movie-goers to purchase their tickets online or by using an app on their smart phones. Physical distancing rules offer a reduced menu where only every other register will be open. Theatres are required to clean more frequently and refills are likely to be replaced rather than reused. 

With all the new rules added to your theatres, they may not be as fun as they used to be. This is why many California residents are deciding to bring the theatre home with them. Creating your theatre at home is easier than you think, so long as you have the right equipment. Build your home theatre in your backyard so you can enjoy nature, while watching your favorite television shows or movies. 

Add a High-Quality Sound System

Your sound system is just as important as your visual image. After you’ve built your perfect visual system including a high-quality HD projector and projection board you need a great sound system. Adding a speaker with a microphone brings a whole new experience to your theatre. A speaker with a microphone opens up the door to a bunch of fun games such as charades or karaoke. 

Turn Your Backyard into a Waterpark 

Home theatre not your thing? Recreating your own backyard water park is a great way to cool down in comfort. Summer is always a hot season in California and water parks such as Raging Waters and Splash Zone can get crowded. When you build your waterpark at home, you have complete access to the rides you build without the need to wait in lines or get stuck in a crowd. Here are a few items you should consider:

Trampoline. These affordable exercise tools are perfect for children and adults alike. Not only does the jumping offer an aerobic workout, but is extremely fun and a great way to cool off. 

Trampoline Sprinkler. The perfect addition to any trampoline is a sprinkler! There is no better way to cool off than to feel the cool, soft, splash of water while jumping until your heart's content. 

Splash Pad Sprinkler.  Sprinkler pads are great for children, pets, and adults alike. Simply plug in your garden hose into your sprinkler pool and enjoy the cool splash of fresh water. 

Take a Hike 

Point Dume is an oasis for both new and experienced hikers in Malibu. The long bluff is set by the western end of Santa Monica Bay, between Dume Cove and Westward Beach. As soon as you get out of the car you’ll have ocean views and vibrant seasonal wildflowers to marvel at.  Take an easy trail winding around the cliffside, or climb down the steep staircase to reach Big Dume Beach. After reaching the bottom, you can venture out to Little Dume Beach, or even further, like Paradise Cove. If you do make it out to Little Dume, it’s about a two mile trip total – but of course, you can always turn around at any time.
