Can I use a LED Grow Light for Outdoor Plants?

No comment yet

The only consideration when using a LED grow light for outdoor plants is to keep it protected from the weather.  You should not hang the light in a location where it will be exposed to rainfall or snow.  Using a wooden cover for your plants and placing the grow light under the cover, gives you the extra light your plants need while still protecting the fixture from the weather.  They can also be used in combination with a grow tent to provide the correct amount of light, no matter what the season outside.

Using a LED Grow Light in Combination with Other Lights

One of the advantages of using a LED grow light is that it can be used to lower the time you use grow lights that are more powerful.  Plants need 10 to 14 hours of light every day, but you can use the LED light for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night to simulate sunrise and sunset.  This means you can remove 4 hours of time from other lights, only using them for 6 to 10 hours per day.
