Keeping Cool in Summer 2021

This summer is going to be hotter than ever and many California residents are looking for new and innovative ways to keep cool this season. Although blasting the air conditioning or sticking your head in a freezer may sound like great options they are not cost-effective or necessarily that great for the environment. That’s why theLAShop has crafted our list of unique ways to keep your temperature and costs down this summer.

Bucket of Ice and a High-Quality Fan

Depending on the size of your home and where you live in California, your air conditioner can cost you anywhere from $300-$1000 a year. An air conditioner can also hold germs, cause illnesses, and do harm to the environment. Save money and stress by eliminating the air condition altogether with this household cooling trick!!

Place our multi-directional, high-speed fan behind a bucket, or bowl of ice. According to some studies putting a fan after a bowl of ice is just as effective as an AC unit. As the high-speed fan pushes air over the ice, the air quickly cools and offers a more natural and refreshing way than an AC unit.

Our Evaporative Coolers

Cool down this summer with an ice cold cooling fan!

If you have more than one fan in your home you can use them to create a crosswind. By placing two fans at opposite sides of the room you can create a cooling vortex that will keep the temperature in the room down for hours. If you have windows in the room, consider placing a fan directing the hot air out of the window and another fan to push cooler air from the outside into your home.

Freeze Your Pillow Cases

If you’ve ever had a sleepless night, then you understand the importance of the cool side of the pillow. Take this refreshing experience to the next level by freezing your pillowcases during the day and using them at night. The most rejuvenating feeling on a hot summer night is to press your face against a soft and frosty pillow.

 Take a Shower Before Bed

If you’re having trouble sleeping at night because of the heat, consider taking a hot shower before you get into bed and do not dry off. The heat in the shower will raise and stabilize your body temperature so when you leave the bath, you will naturally get the feeling of cooling down. Refrain from drying off with a towel and allow the organic process of evaporation to help cool you down. Also, sleeping in your bed after taking a shower will keep your bed clean and reduce the amount of dirt and sweat on your sheets.

Get a Sun Sail

If you love the outdoors but can not suffer the full strength of a solid beating sun then you need a sun sail! Sun sails can be easily hung above your patio, garage, backyard, playground or any other place you want to keep cool. Many people who are sensitive to the sun are using sun sails to keep their cars, and even pool areas safe from high temperatures.
