L.A Comic Con 2021 In-Person December Event
So it has finally been announced! L.A Comic Con 2021 will be held in person December 3-5th! It’s about time, the Los Angeles Convention Center has opened their doors to the public! Unfortunately, last year the much anticipated event closed its doors due to the world wide emergency, now however, things have changed.
Comic Con is an annual, travelling event where fans of anime, comic books, and super heroes can enjoy meeting up with their favorite writers, artists, and actors. It is a convention tradition that attendees dress in costume as their favorite character. At these conventions there are several events such as question and answer panels, exclusive shops, and live shows!
“Now that we’ve seen how 2021 is playing out, we’ve concluded that the new December dates feel the most accessible for the largest number of fans,” said Chris DeMoulin, the chief executive of L.A. Comic Con’s parent company, Comikaze Entertainment, in a statement. “By that point in the year, more people will likely feel safe attending an in-person event, and we also wanted to ensure that our dates wouldn’t interfere with people’s holiday plans. Considering all of the precautionary factors in terms of vaccines, safety trends and California color-coding, we believe the Dec. 3-5 dates yield the best chance of being able to host our most complete in-person show,” he added. “For fans who prefer not to attend an in-person Con in 2021, we’ll have more streaming offerings than ever before to ensure they have the opportunity to participate in live panels and talent meet-and-greets, with virtual access to every main stage and secondary panel.”
Tickets are available now so be sure to secure your spot now! This year, L.A Comic Con will be offering free NFTs of art for those who are lucky enough to attend!
Get a Heat Press Machine To Create Your Costume
A heat press machine is the best way to customize and create individualized clothing. These heavy-duty, counter-top machines can be used for both commercial and personal services. Use this machine to print stylistic patterns on t-shirts, hats, scarves, gloves, or any other garment of clothing. Heat press machines can also be used for printing on dishes, mouse pads, puzzles, pillow cases, and any other household items.
With a high quality heat press machine you can create affordable costumes for any occasion in the blink of an eye! Using a heat press machine is simple! Here’s how you get started!
Heat Pressing Proper:
- Turn on the power button
- Z Use the up and down arrows to adjust the time and temperature of your heat press to the level you want to use.
- Bring out the material you want to press and carefully place it flat on the bottom plate of your heat press. By doing this, you are practically stretching the material
- Prep the material for heat by warming it up.
- Bring down the handle; allow it to rest on the fabric for at least 5 seconds.
- Start the press by pressing the button on the machine's digital timer if your own comes with one. When the alarm blows, stop it so that you can reset the timer.
- Raise-up the handle of your heat press machine to open it up and get it ready for printing.
- Put the shirt or material you want to print on face down and lay the transfer paper on it.
- Bring down the press machine handle firmly so that it will lock in place.
- Set the timer according to the instructions on the transfer paper you are using.
- Lift up the handle of the press to open the press and remove the transfer paper from your material.
- Then give it like 24 hours for the print to lock before you can wash the cloth.
2021 Popular Comic Con Costumes
Many of us have been stuck at home due to the worldwide emergency and statewide restrictions. These protocols were put in place to keep us safe and at home, but luckily we were exposed to a lot of new media in 2020 and 2021! Though Comic Con events were cancelled last year, this year the event is open for all of the fun! Here are some popular costume ideas that’ll help you get inspired!
The Squid Game
Since its release in September, the popular Netflix series skyrocketed to the top of the charts almost instantly! The No. 1 show on Netflix follows a disparate group of people in South Korea who are forced into a deadly tournament of children’s games. Winners of the games risk their lives but ultimately receive large amounts of money if they survive the life-threatening games.
The Boys
Based on a comic book surrounding a group of anti-heroes the story explores the dark and dangerous side of what it is to be a superhero. In this universe the superhero team the Seven, appear to the public as heroic avengers but in reality are tied up in dirty dealings and undercover work. The adult series highlights human heroes that have no supernatural powers but are dedicated to helping others, especially against rogue super powered individuals.
WandaVision
Earlier this year, Disney’s Marvel released its very popular mini-series WandaVision. The short series follows the Avenger, Wanda Maximoff, as she struggles with mental illness and her powerful abilities to wield chaos magic and warp reality. Creatively, the Scarlet Witch traps an entire town under her spell, controlling them and placing them into a reality of American sitcoms.
The Titans
The Titans have just completed their popular third season where they featured a ton of new characters including Super Boy, Black Fire, and Red Hood! These legendary characters join the classic cast of Nightwing, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, Wonder Girl, Dove, Hawk, and more! This show has a character for everyone so it is perfect if you have a big family or if you and your friends would like to go as a theme! These traditional DC superheroes are easily recognizable and super powerful which make them fun to impersonate in their bright and colorful costumes.
Shang Chi
Released on September 3rd 2021 Shang-Chi has already raised over $401.6 million in the box office! The super hero movie tells the story of a martial arts master Shang Chi as he battles a dangerous past he thought he left behind. While exploring his inner demons he comes across the mysterious Ten Rings organization and decides that he needs to put a stop to their nefarious activities.
Among Us
If you are a fan and have been playing the popular social-deduction game Among Us, there is a Halloween costume for you! Dress up as a group and go as "Crewmates" and "Imposters" as you try to complete and sabotage tasks on Halloween night.
The Mandalorian from The Mandalorian
After being left with an epic season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, fans are raving with excitement over the 2022, season 3 release date of the series. If you are ready for season 3, dress up this Halloween as Din Djarin for an “out of this world” costume.
Wonder Woman from Wonder Woman 1984
Dressing as Wonder Woman is another classic Halloween costume. But with the release of Wonder Woman 1984, the outfit is especially timely. Not to mention, everyone's holiday could use a bit more badass-ery (and Gal Gadot brings that in bulk).
Cruella DeVil from Cruella
Transform yourself into the Disney villain for the holiday with a costume that would make Emma Stone and Glenn Close proud.
You'll need to be decked out in black and white with red accents. Rock a (faux) fur black and white coat with a black figure-hugging gown. If you're daring enough, dye your hair to match or wear a color-block wig. Try a bold lip in a classic shade like M.A.C's Ruby Woo.
Stand out against the crowd in a sequined number with opera-length gloves and a sleek cigarette holder. (No animals were harmed in the making of this ensemble.)
