My Grow Lights Burned My Plants

When you are using grow lights to grow plants, you have to make sure that the lights are the correct distance away from the leaves. A high-powered light, such as a HID light, should be at least 6 feet away from the top of the plants. Lower powered lights, such as LED lights, can be closer to the plant because they give off less heat when operating. Always read the instructions that come with your light to see where the light should be mounted in relation to your plants.

Save Money by Supplementing Plants with a LED Grow Light

Grow lights are the best way to get plants to reach their full growth, but they can be expensive to run for 12 hours every day. To save money, use a LED grow light for the first and last two hours of the light cycle. This means you are only running your regular grow lights for 8 hours instead of 12, which could save you hundreds of dollars over the lifetime of your plants.
